Anybody else feel horrible after looking at the post your picture thread? 99% of the people that post on that thread are better looking than me. It makes me want to curl up in a ball .

... But honestly get that feeling too, I just try to bypass it *if* I do post one and the picture's I have posted gave me SA so bad I took them down from the thread

Yeah most people in the picture thread look better than me. It does bother me but at the same time not all that much.

Don't bother tryna interpret it as any kind of accurate representation of the SAS user demographic. Think about it, the only ones who post pictures are gonna be at least vaguely more secure about their appearance than the ones that don't. So the end result is a thread full of people marginally more attractive than average. Don't let it get ya down, man. There's always the things covering your face picture thread for us cool kids.

I can't stand posting on it anymore either. Hard to see your face on a page and you're trying to accept that you might look OK then some gorgeous person comes along

Hmm. I post my pictures on there sometimes.

I don't consider myself attractive though. I just like some feedback before I decide if I want to put my ugly face up on Facebook. Plus, I feel like this place is a home to me, I'd like if people knew what I looked like.

Plus, its a great way to challenge your SA if your anxious about your appearance. Which I am. BUT, according to you guys.. I must not be.

I just cant smile in pictures. Even if it feels like I am, I am not, and my eye brow does this thing that makes me look confused or contemplative. I think I put one up when I rejoined. I think too many people are either fishing for compliments, or trying to confirm all their negative thoughts about themselves

I enjoy putting visual images to people's usernames but I can get down looking through it as well. I find it depressing when a hot babe/dude posts a picture and it's quoted over and over while everyone else's pictures are ignored, but I suppose that's representative of real life anyway. Anyways, I avoid it when it becomes too much for me.

Oh, and I find members who don't post pictures of themselves very intriguing. Sexy ghosts. I don't care if they are ugly as sin or have extremely warped views of themselves. I come to like their personalities so much that it doesn't matter. This isn't really related but it just came to mind.

Anyways I avoid the picture thread now...I hated the way some people (mostly girls) got messages like "Oh your so pretty, your so gorgeous" etc..then others get "you have nice hair"..

and theres some other reasons but won't say nothing

Even attractive people need validation. You're equating posting a picture of oneself with fishing for compliments, which is inherently ridiculous, and you're effectively saying that if anyone's attractive then showing anyone what they look like is solely for the purpose of confirmation. I always feel soooo bad for the occasional person who has,shall we say,less than stellar looks? They get comments like-"You look really happy in that picture"- or "You look like a nice guy" etc.,etc.

I don't mind the good looking peeps posting pictures. I'm always interested in what people look like. The fact that a lot of these people are quite attractive shows how shyness can affect anyone.
