Default Tax Refunds in Slow Motion

I put my tax returns in the mail on March 15. I did my mother's taxes as well and they were submitted March 18. I only had to waste a few days of my life that I'll never get back doing 4 tax returns -- IRS & state for each of us.

We're still both waiting for the snails on sedatives at the WI Dept of Revenue to get off their lazy asses and send refunds. The IRS can manage to direct deposit a refund in about 3 weeks, but WI doesn't even offer direct desposit as that would speed things up and we certainly can't increase speed.

They move at a rate similar to a little old lady who idles down the street never touching the gas pedel.

WI not only likes to tax people to death, they like to drive one insane with their unbelieveable slowness. I once amended a tax return in April and it took till November before they responded -- truly stunning. I expect government to move slow, but this is the most infuriatingly slow unit of goverment I've ever seen.

If you don't pay on time they charge you interest. Yet they get to sit on your money till hell freezes over and not pay you a dime of interest. Yet another reason I hate government.

Default re: Tax Refunds in Slow Motion

They are too busy writing speeding tickets. That's the number one priority.
