Unhappy My trip is over now I'm sad

I went back to some cabins I had gone to in April. Got back in this afternoon. Now I'm sad because it was so quiet and they had a quiet weekend. We were the only guests down there other than that are a few residents on the other side of the roads so we had access to the boats and things we could do without any people around so it made it more fun and comfortable to do stuff. I'll miss the dog Shiner. She was there before and Friday when I got there, I looked for her and it didn't take long. I feel SO good when I get out there, like a different person. I feel so free, safe. I could even see the stars at night and also saw through our Milky Way galaxy. Everything is better there, but even though I enjoyed it I come back feeling this sadness. We may go back in sixths months. It's so expensive to rent that it can only be about twice a year that we go down. My dog had fun too. She got along great with Shiner. I want to cry....Why'd it have to end so fast? I hate the city and the madness that goes on there. It's a little safer in the woods and quiet enough for me. Does anybody else get sad after enjoying something that you don't get to do often enough?

^^I know. It's weird how different your life looks to you after you've been away for a bit.

I would miss it, for sure.
I haven't been to Lake Michigan in years. I would like to go up there next summer.

I would have a panic attack when returning - first, is everything in the house okay, and then what do I have to catch up on.

I love visiting places that have a slower pace and a cozy feel to it. It just lets you forget about the world and reminds you of what life is all about.

This isn't terribly interesting but I get to see Lake Michigan everyday since I live a few blocks from it. I wish it wasn't so polluted though. If it wasn't we would have some great beaches around here. Wind surfing is catching on. Maybe there could be a future in that, if only the lake was cleaner. People in Chicago seem to swim more and care less, but nobody swims in the lake here.

Apparently I'm in the mood for small talk.

Wow! I would not want to leave that. I would be so better off if I could live in a place like that. Nature is the only thing that puts me at peace. It must have been really hard but you took lots and lots of pictures and you can hang them up. The doggie looks like she's having fun.

The first picture looks weird to me. Like it's a man made lake or something, But beautiful still. I love nature, but I need the city. I'm uncomfortable around a lot of people, but every once in a while I meet random people with the most interesting stories. I love to go to Harvard Square in Cambridge and talk to the homeless people. I'm planning 2 road trips. the first next summer, in which we're not going to visit any cities, just small towns and nature. The next, not sure when, we want to go to as many major cities as we can and interview homeless people. They will show you and tell you some crazy stuff. I once met a guy who showed me a bunch of abandoned subway stations that homeless people have turned in to...well homes. None of this is relevant, of course, but I've already typed too much to delete it now. Liarsclub gets me.

I felt so dreadful coming home from Virginia, a months back. As soon as we hit the Jersey turnpike, I became very depressed and anxious. It was fun and I hated leaving the peaceful suburbs for the grimy city.

I take trips away from home because home is boring. I need to feel alive...which for me means the presence of other people at some point, even if I'm not interacting with them. Nature by itself doesn't do it for me. Every place I've ever lived has always felt like a deserted island.

I get cities and I get rural areas and I get nature. It's the suburbs that I find depressing. It's where people go to "fit in". Everything's the same. It's like a land of robots. Robots who wear plaid shorts and spend their weekends vacuuming the family pool and washing their mini vans. Not to mention the soccer games.

I'll take grime over monotany any day.
