Default mobile phones

Does anybody dislike these things as much as me? I'll explain why. I finally get the chance to spend time with a girl I like. We live in the same flat, she isn't doing anything that night, so we get a DVD out. Only for her bloody mobile to go off. Then I'm instantly invisible, while she spends an externity texting this person. This isn't the first time this has happen; I meet somebody, we actually talk. Then the phone goes off, I disapear. For start it is unbelievable rude; imagine your talking to someone and they see somebody they know. So they walk over and talk to them, ignoring you. You would be rightly pissed off, you would want to say something. This happens with a phone, just as annoying, but it isn't considered rude.
I think they have made meeting people more difficult. Everybody is always plugged into to their social group. There is no time when their disconected, willing to talk to someone new. Your not just competing for their attention with the surroundings, but with all their friends as well.
Then there are the conversations people insists on sharing with the world. I'm depressed enough stuck on a bus, going home to another boring night in. With out having to hear about the amazing party some girl went to last night, were she like got off with this fit guy, and her friend was like no way. And so and so on. Until I want to throw the phone out the window. Thank god they don't work on the tube. Sorry, I needed too vent.

Default re: mobile phones

Next time it happens just leave and don't come back if it goes on for more than 5 minutes.

You might have to have a talk with her about cell phone etiquette.

Try and turn off her phone next time by disconnecting the battery (and reconnecting it so it can be turned on).
