Default "Hey, how's it doing? Nice weather, right?"

Oooh I hate those small talk. I go outside and I bump into someone who wanna do some small talk. It always goes like: "Hey, how's it doing?" "G-g-good!" "Nice weather, right?" "Yeah, pretty warm." "And, what are you gonna do today?" "Uuuhm, let's see." "Have a nice day!" "Thanks, same to you!" Oh boy, oh boy.

I suppose small talk is better than not talking to anyone at all.

^agree
It's kind of like practice in a way though.. You'll see. One day you will be used to it and talk to any one you see. Just have hope.

I hate it when I'm just trying to go about my business and random people start talking to me.

Sometimes it's nice to have easy, uncomplicated conversation, but I always worry that the other person thinks it's boring and pointless.

you all can do small talk, you guys just have to have bravery, courage, and practice. it's not something i can use magic for, it takes time and it fails you just have to get up, dust off all negative thoughts, and try again.

I always worry about seeming boring as well. Even typing out this message seems pointless and redundant.

you're read to progress once you learn to accept and then move on from failure.

Turn the small talk into big talk to drive them away. Them:"Hi, how are you?" You:"Better than those people that were in that earthquake in Italy." Basically be Debbie Downer.

I personally hate small talk, but I realize it is important to know how to do--and I absolutely fail at it, sadly.

I suck at small talk, too, even online with people I don't know all that well. Probably most people feel the same way, kind of awkward about it.

I can do small talk but I can't stand it. I don't want to come across as a snob or a jerk (because I'm not) so I have to play their game. Some of the small talk is really REDUNDANT.

Bahahahaa . You can also substitute, "Better than that guy over there, he has herpes!"

Usually I just sidetrack people by making a random statement. As in, the old guy who stands in front of my door at work, watching FOX news, will ask me, "How's the weather?" and I'll say, with sincerity, "tacos for lunch today."

Some years ago I thought that small talk was what people not so intelligent used to talk to someone but later I realized that it is way to meet people and people who have the small talk skills , probably will succeed.
