I re-read. The whole thing, lol. You were saying it's a shame so many people need to do that to supplement their incomes, right?

That people have to sell plasma in order to get back and forth to work, or supplement their income for food, not shameful that one had to do this, upsetting that the economy is this bad.

Did you also read the part that my daughter may need braces and I can't afford the 100-150 a month they want for financing, and I would do ANYTHING (legal) that it took, and I was told that an employee at the office sells plasma to pay for her child's braces. I have a child, I am not above nor would I find this shameful, I''ll do whatever it takes (refresher in what I wrote).

What I do find shameful is the "Me, me, me" world that we're living in."

I donate blood for free as often as they'll let me. I consider it a moral imperative. After all, I can live without a pint of my own blood, but someone else might not be able to live without a pint of my blood.

It's not just a nice thing to do. As long as I'm healthy enough to donate, it would be morally wrong to for me not to.
