Default Ashamed of past mistakes

I often think of certain dumb things I did/said in the past and feel so ashamed that I just want to disappear. I can't forgive myself for doing those things. I could be totally fine one moment, then I think of something from the past, and I get into a self hating and ashamed state of mind. I really don't know how to stop this and it's so frustrating that at any moment a memory could pop up and make me feel terrible and ruin my day.

Fading

I forgive you wholly and unconditionally for your past mistakes.
Now do the same for yourself.

The board is now clear. You have erased all past sins. Back to square one. From now on just focus on the task at hand.

please don't be so hard on yourself. everyone, I mean everyone, does and says dumb, stupid things that they regret from time to time. I'd bet that during your time you've witnessed others saying and doing things that were mean, or petty, or embarrassing, or any other thing you'd care to name, and you've forgotten about it, let it go. you can do the same for yourself. we're all just human. accept that your behavior will never be perfect, like most people's, perhaps?

You're right.
Everyone does embarrassing things at some point. I tend to forget that.

I need to borrow this because I need some forgiveness, too. I've made a lot of mistakes I'm not proud of. We're all guilty of something.
