I think that's pretty normal. Does it take you awhile to wake up? I like mornings quiet and they usually are not. The kids are noisy and the parrot screeches. My coping mechanism is, if I can, is to get up a little earlier, make a pot of coffee, and go sip it in a quiet place to give myself time to wake up and not be irritable with everyone.

Anxiety is usually up a bit in the mornings since it is literally anxiety that wakes up from sleep. We would be a bit on edge and hypersensitive at times :).

Yes, I turn the TV on most mornings and watch breakfast shows while I wait for the coffee to kick in and I have to turn it down so low that I can't even hear it at that volume in the evening.

I'm sensitive to sounds like the washing machine or cars. I feel panicky if I hear those types of things and can't get away from them. Oddly though I enjoy listening to music very loudly.

I too need quiet in the mornings. I like to get up really early to have about an hour to myself before I'm around my family at all. I also need quiet time in the evenings before I go to bed. If I don't get those times I'm very stressed.

I'm sensitive to people talking in the morning. I'm not a morning person and its harder to concentrate to talking especially because of my sleeping disorders, I don't get a decent nights sleep if I have to get up for work.

I also find loud talkers to be VERY annoying. It makes me really not like them and so I become less friendly and they like me less. Meh.

Ever since I had constant ear infections I got when I was a child, I occasionally find it difficult to concentrate on a certain sound. ie) When in the car and the window's open, I can't focus on the music and I have to crank up the volume way louder than I usually need it. Or back in school, when teacher was speaking and someone was sharpening their pencil (one of those noisy ones...) I couldn't hear anything the teacher said. Ear specialist said its fairly common. Nothing I can do about it. So yeah, sometimes random white-noise type of thing bothers me too just because when I hear that stuff its like I'm watching a silent movie.

People talking, someone hammering, someone talking on the radio, it's all too much first thing in the morning. I like to put my earphones in and listen to some relaxing music. Helps drown out the irritating noises at least.

I wish I could sleep through the night, the slightest noise wakes me up, and then it takes me about an hour to fall asleep again, rarely any quicker, and that's if there's no noise to keep my mind stirring.

Ironically, I do my best thinking at night and if i'm trying to come up with ideas that's when I think of them. Genius has it's price I guess. :)

Yeah, I'm morning I can't stand anything but music. I'm mess at that time.

Also, I ****ing hate the sounds make make when they're eating. It's so disgusting and irritating. I also don't like swishy sounds, like water pouring and stuff. They just irritate me for some reason, most things I can block, but I'm really sensitive to chewing. And loud talkers. I can't stand them.

It seems in the mornings after I get up I feel bothered by some sounds. Mainly my aunt talking really annoys me for some reason because she talks kind of loud.

I just feel like yelling, "QUIET DOWN!" but it wouldn't be right. She can't help it.

Even things like the TV or barking dogs annoy me. It's kind of strange I can play computer games and not get bothered... god this is annoying

I just resort to going to the computer and putting on some soundproof headphones to quiet things down.

Anyone else experience something like this?
Certain people's voices feel like a drill boring into your head. Its like that for everyone.

I have always been sensitive to loud noises. Sometimes I can even hear noises that no one else seems to be aware of. For example, at a grocery store I noticed a device that makes a clicking noise to scare off birds. No one else I've asked has ever heard or payed attention to this device, but it bothers me every time I hear it.

oh goshh this is one of those " i thought this was only me" threads
I have this too, im also sensitive to sensations on my hands, if i feel something really weird i hate it. i hate the sounds of the words, "comfy, cozy, saturated" those words kill me slowly when said.
I also hate the sound of my moms laugh when i wake up, i dont really hate it but it hurts my ears and my brain seriously feels like its going soft when i hear it.
I also hate my dogs whine when i first wake up

For some reason i cant stand the sound when someone pours a water in the cup or glass, oh that sounds makes me scream it wasnt the case before but its something which happened recently. I mean i am fine with same sound coming from fountains or water falls maybe small ones but not when someone does that in a glass or cup... why is it like that? I am 35 is that the reason? I am becoming sound sensitive now?
