I hope you don't mind me mentioning this, and that it doesn't come across the wrong way.
But a little while back I did some research on Schizophrenia, and got the idea that it's a condition caused by certain brain malfunctions - hence why so many people with the condition often see and hear things that aren't really there. So going by what I know, I doubt that anything related to your SA is directly what cuased the condition - although I'm not an expert on the subject by any means. If you want to find out more though I know there's quite alot of info on this site:http://www.schizophrenia.com/ You might also want to speak further to the medical professional who is treating you for the condition - as they should be able to answer any questions you have as to what led to the development of the condition. Glad to hear that you're coping well with things on that front. I know this is a condition many people out there really struggle to cope with. Hope things soon improve with your SA too!

Shizophrenia scares me personally.. I have a history of it in some of my family as with other mental illnessess and I do show some of the symptons. I don't think I have it though... I did an online test and did badly but I think that might just be the SA overlapping on the results. I don't want to bring anything else up with my doc or family they might think I am being a hypocondriac (or however it's spelt)
Obviously being that you have been diagnosed means you've gone to the doctors and are well on your way to sorting it out, that is admirable. =) |

I am not sure schizophrenia is caused by SA.
schizophrenia is far more severe and has a huge genetic component to it. I feel really sad for all you people suffering from schizophrenia as my family has been effected badly by it too. In my family we have all varieties of mental illnesses. in total 6 family members including my sister has been diagnosed with mental illness. 2 of them have committed suicide. I have been asking around for some help for my kid sister who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia. I had posted something about this before - http://www.socialanxietysupport.com/...-sister-72729/ a warm and caring hug to all you victims of this disease. |
