Even though painkillers are NOT the answer, they help SO MUCH with my depression/social anxiety. They help much better than anything I've been prescribed including Adderall. Unless you get a script, they definitely aren't the answer because tolerance/dependence develops very quickly and can be quite unpleasant getting off of the drug.

For a long time I was anti-drug/alcohol, but I found that I am a responsible drug user. My brother and sister have major addiction problems, which made me not want to touch anything for a long time. I never took a sip of alcohol until I was 21, and never did anything else until I was 23-24. Now I smoke weed a lot, but I don't consider that a bad thing at all, as long as it's natural, it's ok with me. Shrooms are fun, but only once in a while. I'm not the kind of person who likes to get "****ed up", I don't like feeling like I don't have control of my body. Plus if I do too much of anything I just want to sleep.

I used to be against drugs and alcohol. When I turned 17, I started drinking and later that year I started smoking pot. I've also experimented with shrooms, acid, salvia and opium. Only once or twice each. I eventually stopped drinking all together because I just don't like most social settings (which is the only real reason I ever drank alcohol to begin with). However, when I reflect on my life, the only successes I've ever had with girls has been under the influence of alcohol... which may explain why I haven't had any sort of intimacy in 3 years.
However, I've smoked pot consistently since January 2007 with some brief hiatuses every now and then. If you lay some ground rules for yourself, I think it's pretty relaxing. Nothing beats coming home from a long day at work and toking up with your brother and a mutual friend. It does make me feel lazy when it comes to school. This coming year I may limit my usage to weekends to improve my motivation.

Perhaps a better question would be: what makes "natural" ok?

I think the point about "what is natural" is that things that grow contain chemicals and toxins, which is what makes you high. Just because something is natural, doesn't make it safe. There are plenty of natural things that can kill you . Jellyfish, spiders, snakes, certain types of mushrooms, etc.
I've done pot, shrooms, and lsd multiple times. I have real mixed feelings about this. My older brother is a real straight businessman type, and I'm still in college and he knows about my experimentation and makes me feel like it's a real serious issue and a real dark place to be exploring. I can't say I totally disagree. shroom trips are INTENSE and they can really pick me apart emotionally. That said, psychedelics do give a fresh perspective on life for brief periods of time after taking them. |

I think natural drugs are good. Take shrooms for example. They can make you see the world from a completely different angle than you even thought possible which can be such a heavenly experience. And as Bill Hicks said. Where do you think the phrase "thats good **** came from?" "Or why do Hindus (spelling wrong probly) think the cow is sacred?"

But that pretty much died. To be honest I am much more "fascinated" and into drugs that are not psychedelics. I'll try them, and they're alright to me. But I have tried painkillers, Opioids and Amphetamines have been amazing to me. |

Yeah this might sound bad, but once in a while I like to have a vicodin or a percocet and the feeling it gives me is totally euphoric! Not only does my whole body feel good but it takes away absolutely any negative thing goin on in my body or my mind. While Im high my depression completely goes away, in fact i feel on top of the world and just extremely happy. I dont worry about anything. I feel more focused. I have more ambition. My anxiety goes away! But, of course I'll never be able to get a prescription for pain killers, docs kinda frown on that haha. Sucks though cause they do miracles for me!

Of course it depends on the person but I love weed if I just smoke a little bit but there is almost no worse feeling in the world then being too high and just wanting to come down from it. Too much of too good weed gets me lost in my own thoughts and just makes me obsess over my problems more. Coke didn't do much for me.

I have used illicit drugs in the past and I thank God that I didn't continue down that path, still in the throes of alcohol cravings but I have done a really good job to limiting how much I drink and when I do.
Leads towards the loony-bin, jail, or death in the end. |

Abusing drugs - prescription or otherwise - never seems to turn out well. My brother was in the loony bin for about a month after abusing oxycontin and xanax. He has been a drug addict his entire life and now, doesn't seem to know how to deal with stress or bad feelings except with more drugs to regulate his emotions. Where is the line between 'recreational' drug use and drug abuse? I don't think an addict knows where that line is. I think they believe they still have everything under control. I think Michael Jackson thought he was taking only what he needed to take and that he knew exactly what he was doing. |

I tend to have binges on alcohol when I'm feeling depressed. I don't drink everyday. but I used to have weekly binges and I'd drink so much that I would be throwing up for hours and hours the next day.
I haven't been sick recently because I have been using alcohol much. although I have been dabbling with drugs instead. |

I've never done drugs, except for alcohol. When I was younger I was too scared to try pot. But now, since the older I get the more disappointed with life I become, I've become more and more interested in altering my reality. So if given the opportunity, I would definitely try pot and ecstasy.
By the way, does pot make one feel uninhibited, talkative, and happy the way alcohol does (at least for me alcohol does)? |

I've tried a few things and really enjoyed all of them - cannabis, MDMA, cocaine, ecstasy and speed. I don't drink very often but when I do I like to get pretty drunk
