Default Hyperacusis

Really annoying symptom. Noises sound louder than they are to me, and my brain seems to interpret them as threats. I've seen an ear doctor about it and he says the condition I have is psychological. This was a surprise to me because it really seems physical (it's only in one ear, for instance). I wouldn't mind a second opinion actually.

Anyway, what I get is anxiety linked to relatively loud noises; distortion of noises, and weird interpretation of noises (slamming door might sound like someone familiar shouting).

This is something I truly find restricting and hate having as I don't think I would be as anxious without it.
