Hey, I think you really need help for anxiety. Are you in therapy? Are you taking meds?

With 4 threads on health worries I would say it is the OCD that is doing this to you.

filledwithfear1:

I've had exactly the same obsession you have had, since there is colon cancer in my family.

So far, I've had 2 colonoscopies, and not even any polyps were found, altho as I get older, I can't say for sure, but if you catch the polyps & have them removed before they turn malignant, colon cancer is preventable. And, while colonoscopy is somewhat horrible to think about, you only need it every 5 years.

Since you are so bothered about your BM, why dont' you have a colonoscopy, & find out.

Like you, I had the same concern about ribbon like BM, quite a few years ago, and worried myself sick!

Being so worried, I wasn't eating much, and, when you eat very little, you can have ribbon like BM.

Also, the texture of what you eat can effect the caliber of your BM. High fiber foods produce bulkier BM.

And, soft BM, can be ribbon like because of other reasons than colon cancer. A person's intestinal lumen can be narrowed by diverticulosis, or hemmorrhoids for example.

Don't do like me, and worry yourself sick. Have a colonoscopy, and find out for sure.

Maybe you'll have your worries relieved like I did.

Dude, at the rate you're worrying, you'll soon be scared s**tless!

(Sorry, couldn't resist.)

Most likely, it's just something you ate. Sometimes it can take up to 2 days for food to completely exit the GI tract.

I think it's hypochondriasis. It's part of SA.

Monitor this for a while - if it continues or gets worse over a period of time, seek a doctor.

We go to the bathroom at different rates and it comes out different depending on how long it is in the body, etc.

Just continue monitoring, and make sure you keep up a good diet.

when i was about 11 i was convinced that i had oesophagus cancer... for about 3 months i used to cry everyday.. i went to the doctor and he said that there was absolutely nothing wrong with me. when i look back it seems stupid, but at the time i thought i was seriously dying. it was all in my head... it even got to the point were i couldn't swallow, but it was all in my head. i am sure that you are fine. go and talk to your doctor, simply to put your mind at rest.

Believe me if you had any form of cancer, you would feel pain beyond what you could imagine and it would be to the point it would interfere with your daily activities. And you would think that pain has absolutely nothing to do with cancer.

and now I'm worried about this one. Sorry, I guess I'm just reverting back to my old fears again...

One piece of it came out like normal, and the rest It came out like a ribbion.

It sounds like you need to make a nice long general welfare checkup with your physician, then have a chat with your psychiatrist so he can adjust the loving friendship kittens out of your meds. Everything you post is beyond worst case scenario

How many times do you have to hear the same thing over and over? These threads, all with the same theme, are getting old. I noticed you bumped it to reclaim attention.
