Yes, agoraphobia is possible with, or without, social phobia.

I think I have some form of Agoraphobia. I only leave my house when I absolutely need to.

Well I guess thats 2 more things more than I leave the house for :P (work only) For me, I cannot leave the apartment by myself for ANY reason unless it's life or death. The only way is if im leaving with somoene else. I can go places with a single person, but as soon as it becomes 2 or more people I start to panic and NEED to get back to my apartment ASAP. Over the years I have got pretty decent at hiding any symptoms of a panic attack, but there have been a handful of times when I have been asked "are you alright man?" which does not help, just embarrassed even more that someone noticed. |

I guess i'm lucky to have only had a couple panic attacks in my life so far.
To be honest we are probably both lucky to be able to leave at all because there are people who do not leave thier apartments period people bring them food ect..... very scary and I don't want to end up like that.

I, too, have wondered if I could be agoraphobic as there's really not many places I like going to by myself or am fine by myself. As it symptoms got worse, I found I could take going to a drug store on my best days, but when I'm feeling really bad, I just can't muster up the courage to go. I suppose it's not fitting to be discussing all the places where I can go since, you know, anxiety gets bad and better sometimes (it's bad right now). But at my less anxious times, I could go walking outside, to school and grocery stores just fine. Nowadays, it's a bit harder. I'm not sure why I'm saying all this, really, but it's ironic that therapists ask you to 'get out more' as a way to chip away at the anxious symptoms. Not so, my friends! When it's this bad, don't make me endure something that I'm already running away from and super-duper sensitized to. please.
Edit: but to address the topic, I think it's a normal thing what you are talking about, even if it didn't start out bad. |

The only places I've gone in the past few months have been as follows:
College. Home. Grandparents house. A friend of mine's house for a while, then uhm, yeah. Other than that, the only other place is a corner store and the lcbo. |
