2 hours ain't that bad, unless that is the amount you watch every day.
200GB however seems like a lot but maybe its cause my hard drive is a whole 111GB. to help the addiction: personally i don't think it's realistic to cut it out completely, since you would likely just cave and go on a "binge" and become even more obsessed. set a specific schedule and limit yourself to a decent amount of viewing time however often you think is fit, personally i would say no more 30-60 minutes a day. to decide on that you also have to assess how much it is affecting your life. are you avoiding doing other important things in life and watching porn instead? are your habits causing you to isolate yourself from people in your life or the outside world? do you think it's affecting how you view sex and women/men (depending who you're into)? also, there are programs you can download that enable you to set a timer on how long you can view specific sites or block them completely. i set that up for the time-wasting sites i visit (SAS being one of them =P) but eventually i caved and disabled it. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4476 but there are others that are stronger and have a more complex method of disabling. they might not completely cure your problem but it could help in restricting how much you access sites. finding other ways to distract yourself could help too. exercise being a very good one since it pumps endorphins and gives you a physiological release, though not the same release of chemicals but sometimes can be an effective replacement.

I dunno, go see a hooker? Try dating?
Stopping suddenly is silly, it'll just cause more tension for no reason. Isn't masturbation about 'not being emotionally ready for a relationship'? Where did I read that... Anyway, eventually you'll probably grow out of it, so who cares. Just enjoy it while you can. Plenty of married guys probably wish they still could. |

porn addiction when you are younger, particulary for some who have little experience with what might be reality in those situations, could just cause even more significant problems in the future with relationships and sex. addressing the issues now, while still enjoying it in moderation, seems like the best option IMO. i think if using porn is already having a negative effect on him, replacing it with hookers could just have similar effects (if not worse) and could escalate into what he feels is an addiction for him.

Try to find something better to do with your time. Porn isn't healthy.

200GB. That's all?
If I counted all the dvd's I have, along with what's currently on my drive, I probably have 2 TB of porn. I don't really see what the problem is. I mean, most of us on this site aren't able to establish relationships in the first place, so what's wrong with using alternative means of fulfilling our needs? |

If you really feel like you have an addiction or are just very concerned about it then talking with a professional may be helpful.

Maybe move your computer into the living room/family room or whatever you call it, is another suggestion, that would definitely restrict how much time you spend on it. Depending on who you live with anyway. And as one suggested above, excercise/working out will definitely surpress your cravings.

First off... wow.
Two hours doesn't seem too bad, even if it is everyday. I know there are guys who sit at the computer downloading porn for 6-8 or more hours a day, as if it's a job, and it gets in the way of their job, cuts off their time with friends/family/pets, they 'hold it' and don't go to the bathroom, they keep a mini fridge in their room/den so they don't have to go and eat, and keeps them from moving forward. Now, that is when it's a problem. I'd say you like it, but not addicted. If you feel you are, then maybe talk to a professional. Taking your computer and sitting it in a high traffic area is always a good way to cut down or stop.

I do 1-3 times a day and don't really consider myself addicted. I don't dwell on it too much as a moral issue, but I also don't think it should be considered a non-issue if it bothers you. Do what you can to cut back.
I think 2 hours a day is in addiction territory but the other posters are right, there are people who are much worse. There is a documentary called "I Can't Stop Masturbating" (really), and the guys jerk off like 14 times a day. |

I used to be until I was put on an anti-depressant.
SSRIs really kill that drive.

How many times you do it by day/week?
Since youporn and other video sites exists... I don't have porn on my hard drive :P You're 2 hours masturbating yourself? I use to masturbate one/two times per day. |

I saw a documentary about people addicted to porn and they masturbated like 10-12 hours a day. You're not that bad by comparison but if it bothers you, you probably should cut back. Otherwise you might get one huge muscular arm while the other atrophies. (sorry joke I have to)

![]() To be a guy is to watch porn especially if you have SA since the majority of us have problems with relationships. It most likely keeps me sane, if I was to stop I might go on a rampage....who knows.

I watch porn now and then but never download it. I think when you download it thats when the problems start. There's plenty of free stuff out there you don't need to download anything

I find porn boring. My own imagination is much more useful.
