Capitalism with a sprinkling of socialism (ie. social safety nets). No communism.

I feel like I'm ordering flavors of ice cream writing this

Heavily regulated capitalism, with socialist aspects...like universal health care :/

Anarchism. Screw every last one of ya! Monarchism would be cool too if I was king. That'd be pretty awesome. Not to worry, I'd be a benevolent leader.

Yeah. Sure. "Just a sprinkling of Socialism". How long will it stay that way? Just until the government decides it doesn't have enough power and control.

To a dictator wannabe, power is like a drug and socialism is a unique form of power that they all love (Which is why it has so frequently gone so wrong). Sprinkle a little socialism in his corn flakes and see how long it is before he wants more.

Yah you're right. Just look at those totalitarian tyrannies Canada, France, and Sweden. Give these bloodthirsty tyrannical socialist regimes an inch and they'll take a mile.

Canada, France and Sweden are all capitalist countries with just a few more socialist type modifications then the US has. The only countries with real socialist economies today are Cuba and North Korea.

Again, how long will it stay that way? In my opinion, socialists don't want a sprinkling of Socialism. They want utter domination. For the time being, a sprinkling of socialism in a few countries where everything goes relatively well is very helpful to the socialist cause because it's very disarming. After all, you just said it yourself. "It must be OK since they have a little socialism in Canada and it hasn't descended into an absolute nightmare". They have learned you don't turn the world socialist by being obviously tyrannical. It didn't work for the Soviets and the new socialists have learned that.

Yeah. OK. So you can name a few countries where it hasn't turned into tyranny yet. Let's review a few of the ones where it did -

The Soviet Union, China, Vietnam, Cuba, Nazi Germany, North Korea, Venezuela

So every socialist (Or partially socialist) country hasn't gone terribly wrong (Yet). But when they do, they make it one for the history books. In all the worst ways. Looking over the ones that did go terribly wrong, is it really worth the risk? I don't think so.

And private corporations don't also desire power? Please. And by your logic, Europe should be communist by now. They have much more 'socialism' than we do.

And who in our government is a "wannabe dictator." If you say Obama, I'll just check you off as a loon and move on.
