Default Study: Global Warming Occurred before CO2 Emissions

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencete...emissions.html

Quote:
A team of scientists led by geochemist Zunli Lu from Syracuse University in New York state, has found that contrary to the ‘consensus’, the ‘Medieval Warm Period’ approximately 500 to 1,000 years ago wasn’t just confined to Europe.
In fact, it extended all the way down to Antarctica – which means that the Earth has already experience global warming without the aid of human CO2 emissions.
Global warming is not caused by human activity.

Would you care to explain your conclusion? I suppose the fact that there have been lakes naturally formed by icebergs that there are no lakes that have been made by human activity lol.

This. The temperature of the earth goes through high and low cycles since prehistoric times (at least as far as we know based on like geological evidence). So it is very likely that that at some point in the past million or so years of earth's history the temperature had points where the earth was at all time lows (at like ice ages) and highs.

Just when people talk about climate change now, they usually talk about how the changes that the earth is experiencing now are much more rapid and not following the normal patterns that it used to.

It's sort of impossible to know exactly how much we've caused the problem (since we don't have an earth that is identical to ours except without people on it as a control planet), but to assume we haven't contributed to it at all seems a little naive to me. It's more of a 'how much' have we contributed to climate change vs 'have we'.

Absolutely no one claims that warming and cooling are only caused by human activity. This proves nothing like what you are insinuating.

And there were super volcanoes too, but even that is very limited in the amount of CO2 compared to what humans are putting off.

It doesn't matter if humans are causing it or not, we are polluting either way, and we aren't setup to handle a shift in the climate. It's the ignorant deniers that are trying to drill, drill, drill and use up all the easy oil and gas in their lifetime for frivolous reasons and leave very little to future generations because they are selfish a-holes.

Yay, it's not our fault. Let's celebrate by going tree hunting in the hummer!

But even if climate change were to turn out not influenced by humans, there is still a whole slew of other things going wrong that are most definitely caused by humans.

Rubbish. Just because global warming occurred in the past for a different reason does not mean that it can not be caused by something else. A phenomenon can have multiple causes.

People still believe global warming a serious issue?
I thought this subject died a few years ago
