Anyway, while I find arguing...I mean, debating, with people of other political perspectives great fun, I thought for a change I would instead launch an excercise in identifying any common ground with ideological nemeses. Since my current pastime of the month is picking arguments with libertarian rightists, I have decided that they would be a good group to look for any shared policies/ideas with. Normally, when there are alliances between political blocks, it is between neocons and neoliberals against leftists - and over economic issues. However, on social issues, there are many common threads between leftists and those of neo-liberal persuasion. However, picking out commonalities between leftists and neoliberals would be boring, so to make things more interesting I instead wish to seek agreements on any issues specifically between socialists - advocates of very strong economic regulation, and "libertarians" - advocates of total free-markets; as these are, obviously, diametrically opposed perspectives. Here are my initial, obvious suggestions:
That is all I could come up with on the spot, but I would be interested to see what others can come up with, for this anti-argument.
