Default Christians shout down Hindu on Senate floor

I oppose any sermonizing in government proceedings, be it from a Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, or Christian. I suppose some think this is an exclusively Christian nation. So much for their 'freedom of religion' whining.

People are idiots, I don't really know what else to tell you. I would've like to punch that a-hole shouting in the face though. Although violence sure doesn't solve anything, he definitely deserved it.

There shouldn't be a public prayer in the Senate in the first place. As wrong as the shouting was, I actually hope it happens more often, to the point where they stop saying prayers.

Wonder when they're going to invite someone from the Church Of Satan to lead the prayer? After all, this allegedly is a nation of religious freedom. A Wiccan prayer would be quite amusing too.

I agree with this also. In order for our country to have true "Freedom of Religion" it must be kept out of the government.

That would require too much common sense and selflessness.

I think there are many people here in the U.S. who would be shocked to learn the number of 'founders' of the United States who did not identify as christian. Or the number that were deists or christian deists.

Religion is supposed to give people faith in life, teach people how to be a better human being, to promote peace, to be good to one another.

All these extremists make me sick and give religion a bad name. I myself am not religous at all, but respect others beliefs. Some people in this world just suck so much
