Exclamation 13,000 McDonald's Locations in USA

13,000 McDonald's Locations Visualized As They Sink US Into Ocean

No, this map isn't charting swine influenza outbreaks but something far more deadly—all 13,000 "or so" McDonald's restaurants in the US. How simultaneously gross and delicious.

Those restaurants probably killed more people this year in America than the swine flu

I personally refer to them as McPukes

If i need to have some fast food it's Harveys or a local burger or pizza place. Their food is better, fresher, cheaper and i'm certain healthier.

There's a very definite dividing line right down the middle isn't there?

I heard on the news that there are now more Subways than McDonalds. Love to see that map. (and Subway ftw).

What's the point of the map? Is it to suggest that an abundance of places to buy Big Macs results in an abundance of Big Butts?

I always laugh when people (usually soccer mums) go on and on about how fast food places need to be shut down and all advertising on tv stopped because it is making their kids fat. Yet they are the ones who take their kids to these places to begin with. Discipline people!!!

Btw I had a Maccas chicken burger yesterday and it was win.

McDonald's burgers aren't very tasty so I normally avoid them, but I ate at Burger King almost every day in college and never gained a pound. I would've loved to, but apparently they don't have enough fat. If I had been fat, I would've had the sense to not eat there while dieting.

The solution to fat is not to remove all non-diet foods from the world, it's for the fat people to not eat them.

Not exactly a scientific sample, but there are three Subways and only one McDonald's in my zip code.

Yeah, because there is little population west of the Mississippi till you get to the west coast.

When I think about Mcdonald's wide coverage in the restaurant industry I find it almost laughable. The food is really not that good but people just keep coming back.

I just googled it and the whopper with cheese has 64 grams of fat, 30 of that saturated and 2.5 of trans fat. NO ONE should be eating things this high in saturated fat. You might not have gained weight but one doesnt have to gain weight to clog one's arteries. That is a real myth I wish I could dispel. I work in the cardiac ward at my hospital quite a bit and MOST people on the ward ARE NOT super fat.

I am as guilty of eating a ton of junk/crap type food as anyone. I definitely prefer Wendy's now, though I am trying to cut down.

Now my point: I swear that the hamburger at McDonalds sure as heck doesn't taste like anything I've ever seen at the grocery store. Seriously, what is it. It literally makes me feel ill when I eat it. It has to be low grade beef with a ton of filler. I actually saw that movie "Super Size Me" on TV and thought he might've been exagerrating when he went to the doctor and the doc said he was getting very ill, but now I think the same thing would happen to me.

You know how they say that the tobacco companies have a ton of secret ingredients in their cigarettes but won't tell anybody what they are? Well, I think McDonalds does the same thing.

Just my two cents.
