I prefer tigons, myself.

I'd say a tiger is my favorite animal. As for pets, I'd say cats (although I like dogs too).

What's with the chordate bias so far?

I like Meganeura monyi; along with Meganeuropsis permiana might be the largest ever dragonfly-like insect...

Of course, these things are extinct, but just goes to show you the past can be better.
