I hear that alot, and people take it like 4 days a week. However, my psych. said I have to take it with Lexapro, or its considered malpractice or something like that. If its just xanax alone, then I guess its fine.

Its malpractice to take a benzo on its own? Makes no sense at all.

I don't know about any of that, but I hope to get started on lexapro/cipralex when I see my doc thursday. I should also have some diazepam later this week so we'll see how that works for me vs the xanax.

No, I think you misunderstood me. In order to perscribe an SSRI, he has to perscribe xanax (or some benzo) to my understanding to offset the side effects. I think he can perscribe benzos by themselves.

Xanax does help...But it doesn't help with my hand tremors, which I'm really concerned about and is very embarassing

I hope it works out. I sware I could eat about 10 xanax tonka toys (the bars) and it wouldn't do nothing. Don't know if it's cuz I am on the adderall or what, but like the first time I took adderall I couldn't sleep and I really needed to be knocked out because there was something important to do the next day so I just kept dropping them, and dropping them and NOTHING! (not dick si*zing) it was actually a shame because I came up short that month.
It must be because I been on them for a couple years, but I even took a break and got off them and the benzo still do nothing for me. I am on 1mg Klonopin and two peach footballs the .05 kind. I might as well be eating candy. My doctor wont go up and I don't know if I do either because I was forced to take my last break, it was pure hell, never want that to happen again.

Yeah, the first time I tried Xanax 3 years ago, I felt unbelievably good (good as in anxiety free not 'high'). Hope it keeps working for you.

A non med route which I have heard is effective, is wearing a weighted bracelet. Good luck. |

In the meantime, a weighted bracelet? I don't want to sound stupid, but do you have one you can show me from an online store or something, so I know what you mean. That sounds really interesting and I want to try it, but no idea what type of bracelet to get. Also, will people think weird of me cause I'm a male wearing a bracelet? |

i find that propranolol only works for really intense unbearable stuff like palpitations that come with giving a speech, maybe hand tremors. it does next to nothing if im not REALLY anxious, but for those once in a while situations they're a good addition to the little bit of klonopin or xanax.

I took a xanax from a drug addict friend once and I felt great. I sat in a group and conversed with people like a regular. It makes me deathly tired though. I fell asleep sitting up straight at the kitchen table. I woke up 9 hours later still in my work uniform and with my hand still around the can of soda on the table

That's pretty funny you still had the can in your hand lol. I find xanax to be less sedating than clonazepam.

I like klonopin better, but xanax does work for me too - just not as well goes really well with my Celexa (tweeked version of Lexapro).
Glad you are doing fine.
