I thinks SR really blows compared to Wellbutrin. It doesn't even wake me up, nor does it enhance my mood in any way.

many dismiss the slow release version of all meds as a waste of the extra money, they are often much more expensive

however in the past Ive seen many posts from people who say the slow release version was the only one that they could tolerate or that worked for them

Wellbutrin SR took away my appetite and made me shake. I didn't notice any appreciable antidepressant effects from it. I've never taken the immediate release version.

There are some time-released medications that are genuinely advantageous to their normal counterparts. For instance, I take time-released lithium. Regular lithium releases instantly and causes "spikes" in lithium serum levels, which makes the side effects worse and mood less likely to remain stable.
