so i took some lamotrigine that was prescribed almost 2 years ago

.. because i had run out of 150mg tablets and i didn't feel like going to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription. these were in 25mg tablets that had been prescribed in october 2007 when the dose was being increased.

:P i probably should have checked it was okay BEFORE taking them but i was lazy/depressed and just said 'oh well they can't be that bad'

i only took 6x25mg couple nights ago then another 6 the morning after as that is my usual dose.
i picked up the rest from the pharmacy so since then i've been taking the most recent prescribed tablets.

so yea is that bad at all? i checked and there was no expiry date. i was feeling kind of crummy physically yesterday, like weak, faint, but i attributed it to having a bad sleep schedule and PMS as i had cramps as well...

then today i had a bad headache for whatever reason... my sleep wasn't good this morning either since i slept too late with the sun shining in my face, but i haven't had a headache in a long time.

I did something similar with antidepressants a few years ago and when I told my doctor she said something about "would you eat medicine out of trash can?" and really got on me about it, so I guess it's a pretty bad idea.

I didn't have any problems from it though, and it seems like you would have experienced the worst by now if anything bad was going to happen.

I know that with some things like whey protein, if it goes past the exp. date the only that happens is that it starts to lose it's potency, unless it gets visibly bad. I don't know if that is the same with medication though.

I wouldn't worry about it this time, but I would try to make sure it can't happen again just in case. I'm not an expert though.
