Seroquel, doesn´t seem to help alot

I´m on 600mg of Seroquel before sleep, isn´t that too high? I always feel bad after taking them. I used to go straight to bed the first years since after I took it I soon would feel sick, almost unable to walk and found it hard to breathe, it still happens but takes longer, I´ve been on this dosage for about 7 years now. Although I´m on them it takes me at least an hour to fall asleep so now I stay up for an hour before going to bed then I fall asleep maybe half an hour later, I feel all sorts of things in my body after taking this, aches and pains in my legs, sometimes arms, breathing slows down pretty much, sometimes I gasp for breath, usually once or twice.

I started on Zyprexa but that tortured me for many weeks and I nearly killed myself because of it, then on couple of others, then Seroquel in the mornings which was terrible, for the first 4 to 5 hours I felt very sick and my body was just tortured, just aches and pains, so I was put on this dose at night.

I´ve been getting extreme anxiety after taking the seroquel, felt it sometimes in my legs, arms, back, chest, stomach so much that often I´ve been forced to get up out of bed, walk around and try again. Also gotten other attacks for 14 months, anxiety and pain attacks I feel, not convinced all those attacks are anxiety attacks, often do not feel like that, those attacks are unbearable, especially the pain attacks, then the whole body aches intensely for up to 3 hours.

The anxiety attacks seem to be over but I get those pain attacks still. They happen after I fall asleep for a couple of hours, even just 2 during the day, it happens after taking the drugs for the night even though I delay taking them for the hours I slept, 7 hours sleep don´t seem to be enough for me so it´s sometimes very hard to keep awake during the day.

I also was adviced recently by a psychiatric nurse I called cause of much anxiety to take one tablet of Seroquel to manage it which is 200mg, it was in the middle of the day. Well soon I felt alot worse, in my whole body, I felt powerless, sleepy, my nose closed up, breathing became difficult, it was hell.

Also if I´m a little anxious before taking the seroquel which I take with Litarex 4x564mg, rivotril 0.5mg and trilafon 4mg, it seems to make it alot worse, intolerable sometimes, if I feel bad before I feel alot worse after taking them.

I´m also on phenergan 25mg, trilafon 2x4mg, litarex 4x564mg, rivotril 2x0.5 and akineton 2mg

Despite of all these drugs I feel like killing myself, they don´t seem to have helped with my problems, maybe with one but not necesseraly so, that thing was in the beginning of my illness in 2002 where I thought I saw veins all over my face and color, yellow and green, also I thought my skull was disfiguring me and crushing my eyes, that´s when I went to hospital for the first time, almost all of this thing had been happening for years, the skull thing maybe 6 to 12 months, can´t recall. But after a good talk with a doctor the skull thing diminished and the day after when I was admitted I felt much better and I think the skull problem was gone by then, a few months later the veins and color problem went away but couldn´t that be just because I talked to so many so often who all told me that this was in my head and they didn´t see this? I´m not convinced the meds, the seroquel took this away! They haven´t helped me with all the other problems, pretty sure about that.

I´m just sick of this medication, just often made my life a living hell of unbearable pain.

I got myself a new doctor and she suggests changes, get me on 60mg of Oropram which is Citalopram, take me off rivotril, litarex, phenergan, and then either trilafon which she says is causing my akathisia and then akineton I wouldn´t need or Seroquel.

I´m just wondering, should I quit Seroquel or Trilafon, shouldn´t it be the Seroquel since it is at 600mg and causing the problems, I suspect? The Trilafon is just at minimal dose 2x4mg, can´t be causing problems then? Must be the Seroquel, it´s the only drug I´m on that is in high dosage!

So anxious now, I fell asleep today for 2 hours and I´m hoping I won´t have an attack, last time it lasted 3 hours, torture.

Can I have pain every day all day long in legs and arms sometimes because of the Seroquel or do you think it´s just akathisia?

Can this damage the body? And can taking them at wrong hours cause really bad effects? Like extreme akathisia and extreme anxiety? Been like that for 3 days now.

although the drug cos spend a fortune promoting these expensive and mostly patented meds for anxiety, very few anxiety sufferers seem to get any help from them, I tried zyprexa but the side effects were so horrible, psych told me to quit

all anxiety sufferers benefit from a valium type med which in a large enough dose, lets you get your confidence back and get out there, socialise and visit friends and family
many eventually find an antidepressant that works and so helps more than valium can

I hope your doc isnt getting free seminars on waikiki beach for prescribing atypical antipsychotics

I was prescribed atypical anti-psychotics meds when other classes of meds didn't seem to be working. It was used in conjunction with the more typically prescribed meds for depression and anxiety. Years ago, I tried Seroquel for sleeping, and it seemed to be very strong. I felt funny taking it and can remember being restless, sleepy, and feeling like I was very ill.

It might be one of your meds or you might have had that problem before taking it. I don't really know the answer. You should talk to your doctor about it and get it straightened out. Hopefully, you will feel better soon.

I totally think this is the seroquel and not just akathsia.

When I took abilify i felt fatigued, irritable, anxious, my legs hurt, etc. I slept a lot too, but that was part of my depression.

Get off your antipsychotics next visit with your doctor, and get on something that promotes dopamine for the restless legs to clear up faster. My legs didn't stop hurting until asbout a month of being abilify free.

I though atypical antipsychotics were God's gift to man because of a subjective experience with risperdal, but I know they cause depression, suicidal thoughts, and akathsia.

Actually my psychologist which works at the same place as the doctors and interacts with them every day told me they all do get free trips from those companies hehe, I always suspected something like that.

Did not have any of these problems till after on the meds.

Yes I think also that the Seroquel is causing most or all these problems, seems to be that these atypical antipsychotics are poison for me. Also my life hasn´t gotten better because of them, rather worse, for example, I had been thin all my life, now I am 25-30 kg too heavy!

I´m definately gonna get of this ****, I think the meds are far worse than my disorders.
