Default Partnership for Prescription Assistance

http://www.pparx.org

First you select the medicines you're taking, then based on your eligibility, it lists some programs you can join to get significant discounts on meds.

There is also a list of free clinics.

It also directed me to these: benefitscheckup.org and rxassist.org

Needymeds.com also has a lot of resources and a few links to other programs like it.

I thought this may be of some help:

Both WalMart and Target pharmacies offer $4 prices on certain generic drugs. My citalopram used to cost me $25 without insurance and now it only costs $4.

I read in the newspaper here Target plans to roll this out into all of their 1,300 pharmacies. You can check their pharmacy website to see if your medication is covered:

I guess there isn't any help for Paxil users, is there? I know a lot of people who spend around $1000 a year or so for that.

I am unsure, I thought paxil was generic and it was paxil CR which was still under patent?

Paxil is generic, though generic doesn't mean dirt cheap. Even generics can be expensive.

GlaxoSmithKline may have a program to give their fancy Paxil CR to low income folks for free. Look into that.

I found this on GlaxoSmithKline's site (US)

http://us.gsk.com/health/prescription_progs.htm

I looked on their other sites but couldn't find anything else.

Okay... maybe I'm in the wrong place, but I want to not have to pay (or not that much) for an appointment just so I can get on meds. I also don't want to have my mom or anyone to drive (or know about it) me to said place. It's kind of tough. But I couldn't find the list of free clinics in the link.

Wal-Mart offers Paxil's generic (paroxetine) for $4 for a 30 day supply. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/catalog.gsp?cat=546834

Do you work? Do you have any other drug plan?

I'm in Toronto and am looking into the Trillium Drug Program - see here:

Good luck,

I am using some free clinics. At Parkland there is a copay on meds but at my psych program prescribes free meds.
