I was on 50mg for 2 weeks and now 3 weeks on 100mg. Not sure if my doc next week will bump me up to 150mg or what. I'll keep everyone updated. |

Great, I will must certainly follow this. I myself am also using zoloft (serlain here in belgium) and i'm up in 1.1 weeks. 4 days i took 25 mg, and 4 days 50 mg.
The first 3 days it helped a lot, and i found it quite strange considering my psychiatrist said it works only after 2 weeks for depression and 6 weeks for social anxiety so i'm guessing it's just placebo. My mood is normal and my sa comes and goes. (i have to point out that my SA isn't that bad. If you consider it as a continuum from left to right, it would be on the left side). Can you give more info about yourself ? (how bad was your depression/sa, did you take other drugs before zoloft, etc) |

xanax has helped me in the past w/ SA. I take that as well as needed. I was on zoloft about 7 yrs ago but stopped after a year as I felt I wanted to be off meds.
My depression returned in 2004 after personal setbacks and has progressively gotten worse to the point I had to see a doc about it recently. I am one who really doesn't want to be on meds but realize right now I really need some help w/ depression and SA. The good thing about zoloft is it gives my 24/7 coverage and doesn't slow me down mentally like xanax, but xanax is much more effective w/ SA than zoloft. It has been so long since I've felt what zoloft felt like, it is strange to be back on an ssri after so many yrs without it. Anyway I hope it helps, I'll keep you posted. Hopefully it will do more than slightly improve my depression/SA..... |

the usual zoloft dose range is 50 to 200 and it can take 6 or 8 weeks to work properly

Nope, but off course every other person has different side effects.
Mines are: Headache (easily combatable by an aspirine) Nausea feeling (comes and goes) Yawning a lot! (this feeling is actually quite nice and last but not least, delayed orgasm. At first I saw this as a good thing, but it get's worser and worser by the day. That's it, no other side effects. I took 25 mg the first 4 days, and 50 mg till now (1.3 weeks i'm guessing) |

That's quite a lot. Did your doc say to go trough ? I can't imagine myself taking 150 mg, i'm feeling fine with 50 mg.

actually 50mg is low but if it works for you that's fine. I was told by my doc that the results he sees best is 100 to 200 mg. I'm doing okay w/ zoloft I just want to see if I see better results at 150mg because i would say my results at 100mg have been just a small improvement in depression/anxiety. I'll let you know how it goes, is your doc going to keep you at 50mg?

Yeah, I just had an appointment and he said that I should keep using 50 mg if it works well. Taking more will probably just give you more side-effects than the actual effect he said.
