hi
a few years back i asked my dr for nardil,he said it was risky and that
moclobemide was the same as nardil, but safer.
im pretty sure its an maoi, but a newer version of nardil
but will it work as well as nardil
or is nardil the one to get?
i currently take clonazepam, and have for a couple of years, but i now feel
it is giving me a kind of different, monged anxiety, but it did work like magic for a good while
and helped me with a few things.
from this board it seems that nardil is doing the business,
so is it the same as moclobemide or is nardil the real deal?
thanks for the replies
yes,i am in the u.k. london
im going back to my gp.
i was previously referred to a psychiatrist, because i was prescribed effexor but really cant handle ssri's.have tried many.
so i asked for the referral.
i was seen by a psychiatric social worker who referred me to a detox centre to get off clonazepam.
i went to them, but was told there was a massive waiting list.
i told my gp this, she starting flipping, saying i should originally of seen a psychiatrist.
she said she would refer me back to the original place which referred me to the detox centre, she said it was the only place she could refer me to,as i am in their sector.
lot of referring going on here.
so i rang this place, asking when my next appointment was.
was told by the social worker that i wasnt schizophrenic so she couldnt help me(which isnt true-they have a duty i believe to try and help everyone),but she was annoyed.
she said i should be happy that she had decided i wasnt mentally ill.
i said she wasnt actually a psychiatrist, which annoyed her more.
she said go back to your gp or whatever, she didnt want to cotinue the conversation
but i said they could only refer me to them.
now my gp has left the practice,so im trying another gp
but my chances of getting nardil are looking slim.
dont know what the point of this story is,but im not sure what i can do next.
what do you guys reckon?
i also have some stablon (tianeptine) which i havent tried yet.
any opinions on stablon?
thanks
This is not so bad. You are getting a new GP, and you have the fact that your previous GP offered to put you on an MAOI some time ago. This is a good position to be in.
You could go into a new Dr. and say that your previous Dr. had been willing to perscribe an MAOI, but that you wanted to try something less dangerous first. The less dangerous things you tried did not help, and now you are willing to go on Nardil and you understand the diet and medicinal interactions and you will be responsible when taking Nardil.
This is a good backstory. Yeah, tell your new Doctor that your previous Doctor had been willing to put you on Nardil, and now you want to try Nardil.
I strongly recommend Manerix. It has done wonders for me. It doesnt have the side effects that other MAO's have - and nowhere near the effects that SSRI's have, particularly the withdrawal ones - you ever try qutting Effexor or Paxil??!! Hell.
Manerix was easy to stop - took it for 2 years in 1992, then another year in 2001.
Not many people know about this drug due to it being unavailable in the US.
