Default My prozac treatment log.

I have just started taking Prozac 20mg everyday to help with depression and SA.

It is day 4 now and all i have noticed so far is feeling really tired. I wake up around 12-1pm each day and feel very tired by say 10pm, but stay awake watching dvd's and surfing the net till around 3am.

To be totally honest the first 2 days i had suicidal thoughts but i know i could never go thru with it. There just thoughts.

I will report back here everyday and hopefully my posts will gradually become positive.

Thanks

Great, good luck with it. I'm taking this med too so it'll be good to know how others are responding to it. I probably should up my dose to 20 mg now. I've been on 10mg for a month or more. Hopefully I'll get more of the benefits from the med with an dose increase.

Day 5

Last night had trouble sleeping but nodded off around 4am i think, woke up at around 1pm today and felt pretty good.

Not sure if the meds are kicking in but today i feel a bit better (happier) than usual, but there are one or two reasons that this could be down to apart from the prozac.

I have some Klonopin and Valium also but havnt yet bothered to try them, will keep them on hold until i really need them.

Prozac started working for me around week six, doc upped the dose from 20mg to 30mg around week 4. If you are seeing a psychiatrist see if you can get Trozadone to help you sleep at night and Klonopin as needed for stressful situations untill the Prozac starts doing it's job.

Hope this helps, keep with it for at least six to twelve weeks!

I took prozac before around a year ago, and after 2 weeks it was like boooom!

It hit me all in one go and i was on top of the world, nothing got to me whatsoever. But after being like this for a month i felt kind of seperated from the world and never felt super happy or sad just a happy medium no matter what the situation.

Also i noticed i was acting kind of wild, like getting drunk and messing around to much not caring about stuff, which caused my unversity work to suffer.

This is why i will never take more than 20mg a day, if i up the dosage im pretty sure i will be to wired all the time.

Its still early days yet but im slowly feeling a little better.

Day 6

Slept okay last night and woke up feeling better than usual.

No side effects so far at all, so everthing is going fine at the moment. Still not sure if this is just placebo or the prozac is actually slowly starting to take effect.

Anyone else here taking prozac as i would like to know how it feels being on this med for a good few months.

Day 10

Icant be 100% sure but i definately feel alot better than i did 1 days ago before i started my treatment on prozac.

Im generally more social and feel much more uplifted and energised if that makes sense. All this without the use of alcohol or marijuana.

Anyway just thought i would drop in and say how im doing not that anyone is taking any notice lol.

Is it appropriate to expect daily changes due specifically to the drug? I've always read it takes many weeks before positive effects tend to occur, with only side effects (usually unpleasant) occurring in the meantime.

I never had any side effects from Prozac.. besides mania if the dose was too high. Kind of enjoyed it though

I take about 20mg a day. I have a really bad habit of missing doses so I can't really tell you much. I do know it takes about a week of taking them with out mising a day that I start to feel better.

Been taking 20mg each day now for 3 months.

The first 2 months where really good, but im starting to feel the depression creeping slowly back into my life.

Should I try 30mg now do you think?

For SA it has worked really well, im no longer self aware and can fuction really well.
