Default Modafinil, anyone try it?

I'm interested in trying Modafinil (modalert or modapro; the generic ones) and I was curious if anyone here has tried it. Was it effective? Were there side effects? How would you compare to more conventional stimulants i.e. caffeine or amphetamines? I'm mainly interested in using it as something to get me up an going and to get me focused for school, I don't really find massive amounts of caffeine effective, especially when taken with a benzo, without a benzo it only induces jitters and "scatterbrain", is modafinil like that?

It feels like a large amount of caffeine, but more nootropic. It does not increase heart rate noticably. It does not feel like amphetamine at all. Its good for what your talking about, just dont expect wonders.
