good morning I read that fluoxetine is helpful then - you can change Seroxat into Prozac (it has much longer lifetime you know) and it makes the withdrawal easy. Quiting Seroxat cold turkey might be unpleasant although it does not have to. Is it true? If not, what to do to make withdrawal easy? I's suggested to take it but I read withdrawal might be a bit hard for a few days! I do not want to have hard time withdrawing it so I ask. regards |

I came off Seroxat cold turkey, I was fine.
But then I seem to not be bothered by having withdrawal. They are powerful psychoactive drugs, I dont expect them to have no effect so a little pain isnt so bad. Put it this way, I have had far worse hangovers than I have ever had withdrawal. Hangovers make me want to die. And puke. Yep other meds can make withdrawal better, but then you're on another med, aren't you? Seems silly. Take the pain and get it over with. Ross

It's best to not quit paroxetine (Paxil/Seroxat) cold-turkey. Instead, it's best to wean off of it slowly under the direct supervision of a doctor. Many people who try to stop cold-turkey will experience withdrawal symptoms, which will obviously be different for everyone, but in no way are they pleasant.

Yes, this is often useful. Google "Prozac bridging strategy".
