Default Hot dogs and Nardil?

This is probably a stupid minuscule question, but I've got a stack of hotdogs in my fridge that'd be a shame to go to waste, lol. Anybody have any reactions with hot dogs and Nardil/maoi's? I'm assuming I shouldn't eat them, but I've heard conflicting reports on this while doing a little research. For the record, they're chicken/turkey flavored.

I'm guessing it's ok, since I have only heard of foods containing tyramine to be avoided while on an MAOI. As long as you're on Nardil, you'll find this list quite helpful for fulfilling & following your dietary needs, and restrictions:

i believe it would totally depend on the type/brand of hot dog...depending on whether or not it has been aged. i always eat a really little bit of anything that might cause an interaction, and if nothing bad happens 3 hours later, then i eat more of it. my friend ate a hot dog on nardil, and he said he felt slight euphoria....which might be indicative of tyramine-stimulated dopamine and norepinephrine release.

Third entry in that list is processed foods. Not saying you'll have a reaction but do you seriously want to try it just cause those hot dogs are looking good right now?

Hot dogs do have that effect on people.

Well, since I've already made a topic. Is diphenhydramine(Benadryl) ok to take with Nardil? My insomnia's been pretty bad lately. I've read the Greenhorn's guide here, but it doesn't mention diphenhydramine, only doxylamine succinate

i dont have a problem eating cheese,i eat medium mature. i dont like blue or aged cheeses so its not a problem.
had marmite the other day,8 pints of lager...things get really blown out of proportion,my shrink just said red wine and blue cheese are the 2 worst,
oh and i also eat peperoni pizzas...i aint dead yet!

i definetly wouldn't. benadryl is a weak SSRI, and it could potentially cause terrible serotonin syndrome when combined with nardil.
