The effects of medication vary from person to person, so there's not really any way of predicting how you might feel. I took Citalopram for 18 months and still remember the very moment it started working. I guess it could be described as slightly euphoric - I suddenly started feeling much happier and calmer than usual, and couldn't stop smiling! Eventually, my body got used to the medication and the initial 'good' feeling wore off. After that, it was just the absence of any physical anxious symptoms or serious depression.

there can also be a strong placebo effect
an antidepressant may give early side effects but not go on to help later, its all experimental

with me there was no euphoria with any SSRIs, only a really nice absence of anxiety and depression. the only time i had euphoria was when in i was in social situations, for about a month on Paxil...i think that was the peak of its effectiveness. then the euphoria went away....
