Default Does anyone take Geodon?

I recently started taking Geodon for paranoia. My psychiatrist started me out on 80mg twice a day. That's the maximum recommended daily dose. That was too much. I started to get some reactions from it. I cut the dose down, and I'm trying to find out how much I need to take. If anyone else takes this medication, how good does it work for you, and how much do you take?

I haven't, but can you tell us how it's affecting you? Do you find it stimulating or sedating? I've tossed around the idea of Geodon or Abilify lately.

I am actually testing out Geodon tommorrow so I can give you some input later. As far as Abilify, I took 5mg for a while but it ended up making me more anxious then I already was.

I've tried Abilify, but I thought it made me more nervous. I don't know if it was just because I wasn't on it long enough, I don't know. I just know I wanted to get off of it. I was taking Risperdal before that. That didn't seem to help much so I got off of that. My psychiatrist said that Risperdal can cause weight gain. I noticed I started to lose a little weight after I got off of it, but I also have been eating less also. I recently started taking Geodon. My psychiatrist put me on the maximum recommended daily dose of 80mg twice a day. That gave me kind of a edgy restless feeling, and made me tired after awhile. I cut my dose in half, and that helped alot. It doesn't give me a stimulating, or sedating feeling anymore. I'll increase my dose as I need to, and as I can develop a tolerance to it.

how is the weight factor with geodon? my pdoc doesn't want me to take seroquel anymore since he seems to think it may be contributing to my weight gain.

i've heard good and bad about it.

please let us know how it goes for you.

I took it, it seemed to make me more nervous as well. It also gave me strong muscle spasms in my neck so they took me off it right away.

My psychiatrist told me that Geodon shouldn't cause weight gain.
