Default Difference between an irreversible and reversible MAOI?

The only thing I understand so far is that irreversible MAOIs shutdown monoamine oxidase for about two weeks, while a reversible is shorter acting, shutting it down for only 48 hours. Is there still a food interaction problem with reversible MAOIs or am I thinking of selective inhibitors?

As far as I'm aware the difference is that RIMA's- reversible inhibitors of monoamine oxidase A, are mostly selective to monoamine oxidase type A, and don't have the diet restrictions because eating food with a high tyramine content ie; blue cheese etc causes the tyramine to displace or "reverse" the RIMA drug from the MAOA molecule, so in essence tyramine and RIMAS are competitive.

theres nearly no chance of a hypertensive crisis (only a miniscule one) with Reversible MAOIs. the reversible MAOIs are generally not as powerfull as the irreversible ones, because they don't have much inhibition of MAO-B...thus dopamine levels are not increased as much as with irreversible MAOIs...
