When I first approached my doc about dexies for ADHD, she suggested it might be helpful for my long time depression as well. I think this is an anomaly though. Most docs won't prescribe for depression.

Even on the weekends, my off days, I still feel pretty good. I think it has something to do with the fact that I feel like I'm accomplishing something in life.

If something helps you, go for it. No apologies.

Well said VanDam. Glad that you found something that puts some life back into your life-- keep it up. I'm going to be looking into that or Adderall this coming week with my doctor. Hopefully she'll be open minded enough to give it a shot for me as well. I'd love to be able to do the things I like to do again.

Unfortunately you can't say that. If you do, there is less of a chance they'll prescribe.

Its best to stick to one standard diagnosis....narcolepsy or ADHD. Even though doctors are smart, most don't like to critically think outside the box.

I just got a script for Dexedrine 10mg spansules and I feel normal for the first time in a while.

Did you try the generic or bran? If generic, which company was it? I am still waiting for my prescription since I asked for the bran and they had to order it.

I am having somewhat of a partial response to adderal xr. Somehow, adderall is making me sleepy and unmotivated. I hope I may respond better to dexedrine spansule.

Just got my 10 mg dexedrine spansule (brand) from the pharmacy. So, this morning, instead of my 20 mg adderall XR, a took a 10 mg dex spansule.

Wasn't sure what to expect, but I ended up feeling exhausted all day. I was actually expecting the opposite. An hours or so after taking the med, I did feel a bit "worked up" but I can't say that I saw any of the benefit I was expecting.

Is this med suppose to take a few days to adapt to? Anybody had a similar reaction on their first day?
