Default A question important of Alprazolam/Coffeine when on SSRIs.

good morning

I wanna to ask you - as if you are more oriented than me in this stuff - about mixing two things with paroxetine drug.

1. I wanna drink sometimes coffee. It contains coffeine. Is it healthy (and what effects will appear then) to drink strong coffee when on paroxetine drug? What maximal dose of coffee is allowed then? Does it depend on the drug dose?

2. How does alprazolam (trade name Xanax) acts in person taking paroxetine drug? I read, this drug will then be effective much longer than casually, due to methabolism of both stuffs. I know Xanax is used for destroy the beginning anxiety when beginning SSRI-s, but what if I take it for bravery when the SSRI drug will have destroyed all my social phobia symptoms?
Will I get extremely brave and courageous?

I hope it so much.

good bye

You can take both of those drugs while on Paxil. In what way are you trying to get Paxil to make you more courageous? Brave as in less afraid to go out? I ask this because there have been members on here who expect a little too much out of SSRIs and I wouldn't want you to be disappointed from the results.

Caffeine might mess with your anxiety being as it is a stimulant, but it is fairly safe being as they sell the stuff in massive amounts over the counter at every drug store. Coffee and Paxil do not have any major contraindications, as far as I know.

Xanax and Paxil is my current anxiety-be-gone combination. I intend to switch to something different today, though. However, if by some chance the Paxil completely handles your social anxiety, then the Xanax will act mainly as a sleeping pill - it will probably put you to sleep. Xanax and Paxil work in different ways to combat anxiety. Paxil modulates serotonin, a mood neurotransmitter. Xanax modulates GABA, an inhibitory neurotransmitter.

Thank you. I do know about some ppl (one woman and 2 men) who changed from extremely shy phobic into a "crafty fellow" and so ppl.

I know I should not expect too much, but those cases are encouraging.

Oh sleeping pill? I do not need any.
Thnx.
