Exclamation Too many public boards

In the past SAS used to have lots of private boards, now it seems they are all open to the public ( g()()gle, internet arch|ve, etc ). This is not good or how SAS used to be.

It's easy to block the internet arch|ve, read up on r()b()ts.txt and meta tags to help keep more stuff private.

The following forums

Social Anxiety Friends and Gatherings
The Arts
The Work Place

should probably be made private, and possibly a few other forums, but definately those. sorry for how I typed, I just wanted to block the se/\rch eng|nes some

There is no plan to make additional forums private. I want guests to be able to see more of what SAS is all about before they have to register.

I would like it if Gatherings were made private though. I understand why you want a lot of these forums open, but I'd rather people not know where I live. I know I sound paranoid but you never know who might come on, and quite frankly I don't see why guests have to be able to see who's planning to meet up and when. Normally people only get together after registering anyway.

I agree with this.

On the old site even when you weren't logged in you could see all the forum titles, but when you clicked on some of them it would ask you to log in. That way guests knew there was more to SAS, but they had to register to actually see it. Wouldn't it encourage more people to register if they thought they were missing out on something by not being registered?

Besides as much as we all want more members to join, once you are a member you sort of want a degree of privacy from random people who don't even have SA.

I think that is a great idea! A good compromise to still draw in members, while still addressing the privacy issue which is obviously bothering people, myself included.

^I agree with this. And the relationship forum should be private too imo.

yes, please more privacy. I don't see why people need to see that their is more to SAS then the problems we face that are highlighted in the first section.

Ok guys, I hear how this is making many of you uncomfortable posting on SAS. The following forums now require registration to view threads:
Relationships
The Arts
Connections
Member Photo Albums
Social Anxiety Friends and Gatherings
The Work Place

Well, I've already edited/deleted some of my posts in "Relationships", but thanks anyway.
