I'm just curious, How do you embed youtube videos? I'm a noob, obviously, but I tried the embed feature next to the video on youtube and I just got a bunch of code. help!

Ah.. you mean the typing tools for posting a reply or something on the youtube webpage?? all the typing tools I have are just options to post icons and attachments. I see no other stuff on the reply page, not even smilies! . This is somewhat frustrating

She's referring to the tools within the SAS forum itself. See the "Go Advanced" Button below? Click it and you get a row of tools. On the right is a little youtube icon. Click that and you get the youtube tags to put your video id between.

Yeah, I clicked on "Go Advanced" and still no tools or anything different. I see just the 'Post Icons' and the options "Miscellaneous Options", "Attach Files- bmp gif, etc" and "Thread Subscription" but that is just about it.

Oh wait, I see a list of posting rules on the bottom of the page, but it's not automatically included on my reply page when I click "Post reply". Er, I figured it out, I think, but I'm still confused as to why the youtube feature is not my reply page..

I think it's because of your settings. Go to your user CP near the top right. Then click edit options. At the very bottom there is a message editor interface. You should have the enhanced editor selected. Then try replying again. Hope that works.

Oh, I get it now. Why didn't I notice that before? Makes it hard to edit stuff with the post settings hidden all the way down there and hidden in the User CP. Must be the new style of this er, awesome board. Oh well, thanks for the help guys.

ok maybe someone can help me out, i've tried posting the emben code, and yes i used the youtube icon in the reply tools but i guess i'm just missing a step. any help would be appreciated.

Take a youtube URL like this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0

Take the bolded part of the link above and put it between some youtube tags in your post, like so ...

[youtube]oHg5SJYRHA0[/youtube]
