Current Private Sections of SAS

There will still be areas where you can post that will be private - requiring membership to view entire threads. Otherwise, guests will be able to see the thread topics only, and not the content of the posts or threads.

Ok guys, I hear how this is making many of you uncomfortable posting on SAS. The following forums now require registration to view threads:
Relationships
The Arts
Connections
Member Photo Albums
Social Anxiety Friends and Gatherings
The Work Place

Why not have all SAS discussion require registration. Why should outsiders be aloud to snoop on our conversations or crawled by google..... With all due respect that kinda irritates me that you guys don't protect our privacy better.....

How did you find the site? I personally used Google.
Once you found it, how did you know that you wanted to join? You read the posts that were available to you. If the board was entirely private then we would get no new members. We would not be on any of the search engines. As it stands, we have Members: 21,642, Active Members: 1,930.

As for worries about individual privacy, you have your user name which in most cases has no connection to your real name. No one has access to your email information. Your profile can contain as much or as little information as you put into it. Unless you post a picture, no one can know what you look like. That's pretty private.

I agree it irritates me when you can't look at a board at all unless you join. The way it is now is inticing as you can look over some but not all of it.

no one with a life really cares who you are online anyway. if some of this board is public who cares. i dont see someone fascinated enough to really find out who most of us are.
