"You don't have any plans for the weekend?"

"You don't have any plans for the weekend?" I've been asked with surprise.

No, I don't have plans. Thanks for reminding me.

Yes a lot of my workmates ask me what I get up during weekends. The sad answer..absolutely **** all! lol I just tidy up my house and chill out at home. The truth is I don't really have much of a life during weekends...I mean now and then I'll go outta town to visit a friend but what's so bad about wanting space -.-

At some point it bothered me, until I realized this is my life, and I can do whatever the heck I want.

Same. I just tell the absolute truth now. "Went for a 2 hour walk in the rain listening to epic albums and it was awesome etc" People actually go "that sounds cool."

I think we're too quick to say "nothing" when people ask us this, because we assume they'll think it's lame if we didn't party etc. If you're just honest, people will probably actually warm to you/get interested about your hobby/relate to the movie you watched/tell you that they like cooking too, yaddayadda.

I'm waiting for the weather to calm down so I can at least say I went for a walk. Yesterday may as well have been classified as a hurricane. I hate the coast sometimes.

I usually lie my *** off if someone asks me that or the dreaded "So what do you do?" People are judgmental enough already with their thinly veiled condescending reactions to the truth.

yea i have plans for the weekend...........i plan on not having any plans.

Nothing wrong with doing nothing. Sometimes we need a break from trying to do everything.

It is said that a fool is undiscovered as long as he does not speak, and certainly a well-dressed fool cannot be identified unless he speaks, but as soon as he speaks he reveals himself at once. - Bhagavad Gita As It Is

I'm not a spiritual person, but that rings something so true to me.

I go for walks in the rain with blasting music as well and I absolutely love it! So whenever people ask me and that is my answer they usually find it cool too. I guess it is because they hear how happy that made me feel.

Quite often I bend the truth - 'spent the weekend with my friends' is a usual line of mine. Friends being my pets-but they are my friends, so there is no lie there!

Well, even if we are here on this forum all weekend, isn't that spending time with friends as well? To me it is. At least I feel like I am being listened to/understood here. :-)
