Default Thinking positive is chicken soup for the SA sufferer…

I’ve been testing this a few times now and it really does work. I have done this early in the morning when I wake up to go to work. When I feel the ANTs (automatic negative thoughts) kicking in, I stop myself and start thinking positive thoughts. For example, if I wake up feeling like I’m not good enough for work, I start thinking that work is easy and that I’m capable of doing it easy.... Which I do, but SA brings me down and makes me doubt my work. which makes me mess up sometimes which give me more ANTs.

The stop to those ANTs is positive thinking... even if you lie to yourself... hey, I am the greatest!!

So what are your thought proses throughout the day?

I don't lie to myself, but I agree . Positive thinking is an underrated tool in recovering from SA. I usually remind myself that I'm a smart, caring person despite this one mistake (whatever it is). I usually don't even have to do that now, I used to but I just naturally shrug it off now, which is proof that it works lol. I think if you make a habit of it you're general mood will improve.

I like that saying too. It is like chicken soup. It's not a cure, but it definitely helps you feel better in the short term and makes recovery much easier and less stressful.
