I'm scared to use webcams. I always think that people are looking at me. I've actually taped over the webcam on my laptop (that came installed with the computer), so that people can't see anything through it.

I've recently been using a webcam sometimes in IM convos and it seemed to go well. Some people tend to talk to me more with my webcam however I am not ever going to use a mic. I am too scared to do that.

text and mic for me (well I use mic for games, so maybe it doesn't count)
You have to practically tie me down to get me to use a webcam... |

I've taken the tape off my webcam, and I'm considering using it. I may die of embarassment, though.

I don't know how I feel about it.

I haven't tried webcam or mic with anyone on the forums, but I have done webcam + mic with other people. One thing I've noticed is that most people I've met have little desire to use the webcam. Often, it would end up with them being able to see me, but me not being able to see them. I guess lot's of people are self-conscious about themselves.

I've only typed. I usually don't like the sound of my voice. People used to try to push me into using a mic on messengers. Thankfully, the computer I have now doesn't have a mic. Makes a convenient excuse.
I feel bad about not trying it(if I ever have a mic again), but I'm really self-conscious about my voice. Have thought about trying to talk to new people on the phone. I might try it someday.

I've had a few conversations with the ever-friendly "skype test call" but never worked up to humans.

I've never owned a webcam but if I did I'd probably have to put on one of my Halloween masks to use it.
Now I'm actually tempted to go get one.

I use a webcam with my boyfriend everyday. At first I was very nervous but over the months I have gotten so use to it that it feels like the most natural thing in the world. I've done some things in front of it that I never thought I would.
I definitely recommend it to all of you guys; it has helped me with my SA a lot. If someone wants to try it with me, I'll be happy to help. |

I only type, I think my voice is very high pitch on mic even though I've been told it's very deep the one time I did go on, I usually only go on cam with people I know in real life and even then I don't like it

I'm kind of set in my ways. I dont care much for webcams or phones. I like voice chat in games, but I don't like to chitchat very much online. I'd rather talk in person.
