Default Social value

Does any one else find it disheartening that social value is taken into consideration when socializing in a group of people?

For instance, in the pick-up artistry community there are terms like DHV (Demonstrate Higher Value) and AMOG (Alpha male of the group).

I've had bad experiences when attending university group socials that includes PUAs. They 'dominate' their opponents and such proving their worth and status to the women there.

Wouldn't life be great if we could just sit at a table AS EQUALS and just discuss stuff?

Am I day dreaming?
