It's really embarassing because I blush all the time, even when someone just says my name (even if I really could care less what they think.) I'm on session 4 of the program and I'm glad I'm getting these skills, it's just, it feels so out of my control and so physical. The weird thing is, I used to be the most social, happiest person. Genuinely happy. I can't afford/don't want to be on medication. Can anyone help/relate? Thanks. |

I can. I'm so sick of having to waste my energy on anxiety that sometimes I just feel like giving up. I feel like its stressful to go through feelings anxious, and I feel like its stressful to try to fight the anxiety. Eventually all that stress piles up and I feel flat out drained and depressed. My friends have been calling but I haven't been picking up the phone. I haven't been out all day. It just kind of feels like I'm leading an aimless existence. I used to be "popular" back in high school, I guess it serves as proof that this isn't my true self. But at the same time things are different and I need to learn to adjust with the way things are now. Right now I'm just trying to relax and not give in, but at the same time not struggle with all my anxiety, its tough, but its so much easier when you can just learn not to do either of these.

I know what you mean. It takes soo much energy and you feel so mentally and emotionally exhausted, you know? Like you said, drained. I know what you mean about the popular thing, you're just not yourself with the anxiety and it really does fall hand in hand with depression it seems. I don't know if you believe in God or anything, but he has a reason for this and you will get through it. Just know that you're not alone, I can completely relate. And I'm glad someone else can relate too. Thanks so much. Try just getting out of the house, like in your backyard or front yard or something, even if you can't be aroud people right now. Just getting out has helped me a little, even though it's hard getting there. Hope it gets better for you. Thanks again.

hahah np, your welcome. I've actually been trying to get back into working out lately. I find that just getting out a getting my heart rate up is very refreshing and soothing for my soul, as I have played sports my whole life up until I entered college, if you don't do it you should try it, just go for a hard 15 min jog. I don't really believe in a god but I have faith in myself, and I think that alone is good enough. Oh and I meditate, that helps some too.

thanks, i'll try some exercising. i find when i exercise it does help, but i hardly ever get the time to do so. but i'll take that advice! also, is it wierd that i really don't have anxiety outside..? i mean usually outside of school, school functions or settings like that im usually okay..is that abnormal? for me, i blush a lot. can people tell when you have anxiety or not? cause now, it's not just the anxiety itself, its the anxiety of what im gonna look like when i get the anxiety. its a mess haha. thanks again.
