Default Overcoming SA together

Imagine if we could all be an inspiration to help one another to overcome SA. Each contribution counts and can even make the slightest difference in someone's life. Even I feel like a total wreck and loser sometimes, but hey, I wanted to make something positive out of my very own first thread. Everyone's participation would be greatly appreciated.

Post your own ideas, plans, techniques, free resources (or not) - such as ebooks, articles, podcasts, documentaries - or anything which you think could help individuals to reduce or cope with their social anxiety. Remember there are always new members joining this site, so let's help out!

Thank you for reading!

So, I'll go first

I think only the mods can do that. This thread should provide helpful strategies to relieve SA, and it should be available for everyone to access without the thread dying down.

3) Here is an experience group where people share their own stories. You can basically create a discrete or social account and join groups such as that of social anxiety.

it also helps alot if you have a short description of what the links are about. i have noticed that depression is rampant in this board. the shear negativity almost makes you want to leave this board. rite now i will talk about the chemical ways of making you feel better. all discussed over here is legal otc medication that as far as im concerned, does not produce adverse effects. this is my personal experience and is by no means a promise that the product may work for you the same way it has worked for me. here you go, these are what i have found to be the most effective supplements in empowering me. Notice this has not been a direct variable inhelping me deal with depression, but an indirect one. Depression is a problem of perspective, does not matter whether you have all the chemistry set in place, if you perspective is skewed you will not be able to defeat depression.

1. vinpocetine: nootropic, increases metabolism in brain. this link closely resembles what I have found about it:
http://altmedicine.about.com/od/herb...inpocetine.htm

in summary, vinpo increases bloodflow in brain. my real world experience is that it allowed me to increase my creativity, critical thinking skills. i take a dosage of 10mg 3xday. I started with 5mg a day and noticed results. I progressively built up to 10mg

2. piracetam: nootropic, believed to increase hemispheric communication in the brain, in other words allows you to come up with more AHA! moments. This link talks a little more in depth about the supplement, but does not have enough info:
http://psychology.wikia.com/wiki/Piracetam

For me, it improved my memory recall, gave me insight. However, it must be taken with a source of choline, otherwise you will feel tired. My source of choline is lecithin, I take 1.6g piracetam and 2.4g lecithin. I am still building tolerance for this supp, and I cycle it. Which means, I take the supp for some weeks, then I stop for 1-2 weeks, and repeat.

For these supps, I recommend to never take them if you are going to bed within 4 hrs as it may increase your risk of insomnia.

I believe that for one to beat depression and anxiety, it is necessary to adopt a bio(supplements nutrition exercise), psycho(positive affirmations, motivational media, goal setting, etc.) point of view. Otherwise, you may at best decrease the effects of such recovery. If nothing else, at least work on your psycho component.
i will write more soon. hopefully about psy component, which was pivotal in my recovery.

Watch this vid while sensing the feeling that you and your thoughts/feelings and the whole world are sitting inside of something. Everything is sitting inside of something that is indifferent and calm. We are sitting inside of the present moment--- the ultimate equalizer.
Just observe the world and self sitting inside of awareness

Hi rapidfox, thank you so much for posting this wonderful video clip here - It goes to show that people are struggling worldwide, so we aren't on our own. Very well done, hope this encourages the other members to view their situation in a more positive light. If you wish to add more resources it would be more than helpful for all of us! Thanks!

I have been making my own research on the internet for getting to know more about and try to cope with / treat anxiety issues. These resources are by no means mine and anyone is free to access them. You might find some of these useful, especially the videos and interviews / audio sessions. I haven’t read / watched / listened to all of these resources myself, since I need the time to digest the pile of resources. Feel free to comment on ways of overcoming Social Anxiety and if there’s anyone with any success stories or resources, also feel free to add them here. Hope you find these beneficial.
