Default oral reports

Does anyone have or had major problems giving oral reports or do you just white knuckle it and get through it without looking too nervous?

From my observations, a lot of people on here don't like giving them.

oral reports are impossible, as my issue is with the visible physical symptoms - sweating -and there is no way to hide this. In college, I attempted to avoid classes that had oral presentations on the syllabus. I would love it if all I had to do was feel nervous and get through it, as I did when I was younger, but now the sweating is so hard to deal with.

I mainly just tremble. I just pretend no one can see it. My presentations are always short and sweet. I also just keep telling myself that I didn't pay attention to theirs, they are definitely not going to pay attention to mine. I guess this is one social thing I've conditioned myself to just break through it and get it over with.

I have on tomorrow im pretty damn nervous about..

every time ill be super prepared and have an awesome layout (i usually keep it short and to the point too). then i get up there, start well, then when i finish a certain sentence my mind will have no idea what direction i was going and what im supposed to say next..even though iv practiced it a bunch of times. Or ill think about everythign except what im talking about so its up to my vocal cords and mouth to do the presentation alone..which is a bad thing

tempted to bring up some note cards but i know im going to fiddle with them like crazy and not know about it

definitly frusterating to know i could do a good presentation if i wasnt such a mental spaz

to make it even worse, he's recording us so we can "get better"...going to burn that the second i get it. i know i suck..i dont need to watch myself to confirm that

lol, I can't believe your teacher's actually recording it. I'd never want to see myself on camera being nervous.

I hate presentations but I'm not too bad at them. I get nervous and stuff but I just focus on reading and then I'm finished. I had to act out a scene of macbeth in class yesterday and I hated it but it went fairly well. The time I ever had any trouble was when I about 10 and I had to read part of the bible in front a huge congregation. I did not even have SA back then but I was shaking and my voice was trembling badly. I guess it mostly depends on the size of the crowd.

When I was in school oral reports were the worst! Once I actually told the teacher that I didn't do the assignment because she wanted me to present it orally, and I have dropped a class before because there was going to be so much oral reporting.
I had a job where I had to do some public speaking. The more I did the better I got at it, but I was always extremely nervous beforehand. I even hate it at meetings or functions when you have to go around the table and introduce yourself. I've been known to leave the room right before my turn and return later.

I hate oral presentation, the only time where i can easily deal with it is when i'm sick, having a cold sorta disguises your voice from sounding nervous or when i usually take alcohol beforehand.

i cant w8 till i graduate uni so there will be none of this stuff.
OP, your 28- are you doing some sort of post graduate degree or working in a job where you have to do a presentation?

Presentations suck. I never can focus on what I'm talking about because I get so nervous I start to shake and my voice starts sounding weird. I just rush through it and usually get a bad grade. SA is crippling I tell you.
