I can't even smile at people anymore at all really, I just don't feel like it.

I have the opposite problem - I can't smile at all when I'm anxious.

Yeah, I tend to get this really stupid grin that displays my effed up grill.

I've been asked if I file my teeth.

Yeah. Grin like an idiot all the time! That's what someone actually told me once.
And I've also been picked for having an "artificial laugh". It's something beyond my control. Just happens when I'm nervous. Can't help it. And I constantly dread that I might give this nervous laugh even when someone is delivering some bad news.

Yes, I have a permanent small smile on my face when I'm anxious. It's practically begging "please like me", and I hate it but can't control it! I even have it when someone insults me. As if smiling like that makes them think I don't care or something!

I vary between a straight face to a frown. I NEVER smile. I'm FAR to conscious of myself. Plus, I've never been much of a smiler. It would actually be shameful if a camera followed me and recorded how rarely I smile day-to-day.
I'm not THAT miserable. OK, I'm pretty miserable.
But yeah, I don't smile when I'm anxious. The anxiety and smile centers of my brain are at different poles of my brain, I think. I wonder what the smile center of the brain would look like...

Yeah. I think it's a defense mechanism, I hope people won't hurt me because I'm smiling...
I have to be extra careful not to smile when something serious/bad has been said though. That can be awkward.

My nervous smile would either make me look as if I am in pain or whether I'm uncertain if I should smile or not. At least that is my assessment. When it happens it makes me even more nervous and I become flustered. It's very frustrating.

I have a nervous smile, laugh, and shiver. To try to stop these from occurring, I'll bite down on my lips and try to retain a very rigid posture but I'll still shake a little. It's maniacal, really.

I usually try to relax my eyes and keep a mild smile on my face when I'm feeling nervous. I thought at the very least it would make me look less uncomfortable, which I think it does.

The problem is, I caught my reflection the other day and I looked so insufferably SMUG that I now feel too self-conscious even to do that. More proof that I'm my own worst enemy lol
