Default Meeting up?

Hey, I'm new to this forum, but I'm very familiar with SA. Therapy, SSRI's, benzo's, group therapy, everything you could think of that's SA related. But anyways, I think what I've always wanted was to meet someone that was like me. And there seems to a whole bunch of people on this site, but wouldn't it be so much better if it was a living breathing person in front of us and not just a bunch of words typed by someone behind a computer screen?

I don't know where everyone's from but SOME of us must be within close proximity of each other. I doubt anyone's close to me (Gotsu-shi, Shimane-Ken, Japan) and erhh...long story short I came out here to teach english to get over my anxiety and so far it's a struggle but anyways, I'm just putting this out there because I think what we all yearn for is to be able to relate to somebody, and to not feel like we're the only person in the world goinng through this ****.

A lot of ya'lls say you got nothing to say and no interesting stories to tell and if the time ever came to talk to another person, it would be impossible. But look at all the stuff you post onto forums!! Everybody's got a story to tell and something to say, even if it's hard to do so in front of people at times. Maybe knowing that the person across from you understands would help.

But in any case, I'm originally from Los Angeles, and if there's anyone close to there, holla!!! And hopefully some of you guys will find it inside of yourselves to go out there and start somewhere to get yourselves out of this. It ain't easy, I'm trying, but maybe if we all tried together it'd be more manageable

Welcome! I like your positive attitude.

If you're interested in meetups, there's a whole forum here for that, called Gatherings. You might also want to look at SAS Friends and Connections.

They're both towards the bottom of the main forum page, and they are kinda slow boards. But still, they're there. I hope you like it here.

Sorry I didn't notice it before, but it will be very useful! Thanks for your support, I really appreciate it, I feel a little better just having made a few posts and getting a few responses. Something about not being alone helps immensely.
