Default How do I prevent myself from replaying bad memories?

I just humiliated myself by having a panic attack in front of my entire class when I was supposed to give a speech. I ran out and couldn't do it. I got a lot of weird looks and the memory has been haunting me. I just want to forget but I can't get it out of my mind. How do stop these memories from replaying in my mind? And how do I stop TRULY caring about what others think of me? I keep replaying in my mind thinking about how all my classmates think I'm some freak. How do I stop this destructiveness??

They are permanent. Bad memories from 8 years ago often keep me awake at night.

i wish i knew the answer to your question... i have done the same thing and still worry about things that has happened a while back..maybe just thinking that most people have humiliated themselves .. I really hope you are able to get over thinking about it all the time cause you are soo right that its very destructive..

I have learned that you just have to accept those moments and rough it out. I constantly screw up and embarrass my self a lot. I have done that for years and when i get to thinking about the past all those bad memories flow back, and its even worse because im gonna make those same screw ups tommorow. You just gotta make peace, it is what it is, live in the now.
