Default Do you sing?

I think I can not sing, even only me in the room. I think the reason is I think my voice is so ugly, and I am not good at singing. How can I sing?

I think just about everyone thinks their voice is ugly. I used to firmly believe that until someone that I had talked to over the phone told me (in person) that my voice was good enough that I could have been on the radio (no voice training needed). Even with that knowledge, I still cringe when I hear a recording of myself.

The only time that I feel comfortable singing is when I'm alone, music blasting so I can't hear myself As to your question, the only way to get better is to actually do it.

I love singing as long as no one is in hearing distance from me. I normally hate my voice but it doesn't seem to bother me when I really get into a song.

I get self-conscious with hearing myself sing, but a former roommate actually told me she thought I was really good. Hmm. Still, singing is definitely not something I'd be interested in doing in any serious way.

As a joke, I used Garage Band on my laptop to record some funny songs (including singing) back in college. I enjoyed sharing them with my friends, since the nature of the songs was based in humor. They thoroughly enjoyed them, primarily due to the lyrics/music. It's not like my voice was the main strength, haha.

I do not sing well. That's for damn sure. However, I LOVE to sing and do it when I'm alone - mostly in my car.

Singing is a great distraction from anxiety. It takes your mind out of the anxiety mindset and moves it to a more positive place.

So, sing your heart out when you're alone. Who cares how it sounds? It feels good!

I don't sing either, when anyone else is around. When I'm alone I do sing along to music I like, but I hate my voice and I get terribly out of tune. Oh, and I also do sing in front of other people when I'm drunk enough and the music is very loud.

I think I can sing.

This has not yet been independently verified.

I love to sing, but unfortunately I wasn't blessed with a tolerable singing voice. Since I like to sing, I try to do it in places where I won't inflict my voice on others. I love to turn the volume up and sing at the top of my lungs in the car. You should try it. It releases a lot of tension.

Singing is great. I'm not that good, but i used to be. I just kinda stopped for about 3yrs, so I'm starting over. Getting better slowly. I wish i could growl, but never could. So, I'm working on KD style falsettos(sp?). Getting closer each week. I prefer nobody else hear, but some songs I just can't resist, reagardless of who's around. Yep, singing can deffinitly relief some stress. And don't worry how you sound, it takes a long time to get even get so-so. Everyone has to start somewhere! I'd love to someday be the frontman in a band, even if we never make it big, and all we do are the local joints. Damn that would be fun.

Rarely, and only in private.

Since I am taking German in college I tried singing along with one of my favourite bands, Rammstein. It actually felt pretty good singing along this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_F9bQPt4yU

Singing these particular lyrics from the song I linked aboive almost felt like a primal release even: Denn du bist was du isst, und ihr wisst was es ist. Awesome.

I love to sing. But I'll almost never sing while in front of another person[s]. If other people are singing along with me though, I feel fine, no matter how large the crowd. I don't know what it is... I've actually done karaoke before by myself, but it was always after a few drinks, so I don't think that should really count.

I like to sing when im alone. Like what was said it distracts me from anxiety. Sometimes other people singing annoys me so i try not to be a hipocrite about it. I was singing american pie driving home tonight.

Haha, took me a minute to remember that one. Been a while since I listened to MF. I've been on my KD-with-his-own-band kick for a while now.

One if my favorites : Rise...Rise...Rise My friends...RISE!!!
Spirits.. rising from their grave.....
Burning shadows... in the dead of night...
Icy fingers(in a deeper raspy voice) - ALL OVER MY HAAAAND!(and back to high)
Try to make Me understand!
I swear, I spend so long on deciding which KD album I wanna listen to. lol They're all so damn good. Abigail 2 and Conspiracy are my favorites to sing along with though. Ah heck, they're ALL great to sing with.
